Well Being Community Center Wins Salmon Recovery Funding Award for Environmental Restoration đŸŒ±đŸŸ

Updated: Aug 21

We are honored to announce that the Well Being Community Center has received the Salmon Recovery Funding Award from the Snohomish Conservation District for our commitment to environmental restoration and community education. This recognition highlights years of dedication to caring for the land, salmon, and families in our community.

A Legacy of Restoration at The Clearwater School

Our restoration journey began in 2006, when The Clearwater School partnered with Snohomish County Surface Water Management through a Salmon Recovery Board grant. Together, we transformed a thistle field into a thriving riparian forest along North Creek. Students contributed over 100 hours planting trees—what was once an open field has now grown into a living forest.

Expanding Through the Well Being Community Center

Today, our work continues and grows through the Well Being Community Center. Families now join us to:

  • Learn how to create and care for a healthy habitat.

  • Connect with nature and enjoy the riparian forest.

  • Actively participate in environmental justice that supports salmon recovery, clean water, and future generations.

Why This Matters

This award is more than recognition—it’s a reminder of how community action creates lasting change. Every tree planted, every workshop held, and every family engaged contributes to a healthier ecosystem and stronger bonds between people and nature.
